ABU Postgraduate Programmes
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
UBA Entry Requirements:
Five O’Level credits in not more than two sittings.
NYSC certificate or exemption letter (for applicants below 30 years).
Bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class Lower Division or a 2.40 CGPA.
Third-class degree holders need five years of post-graduation experience or a Postgraduate Diploma.
HND holders with Lower Credit and relevant professional certifications (e.g., ACA, ANAN, ACIB) are also eligible.
Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
ABU Eligibility:
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degrees in any discipline.
HND holders.
Candidates must provide proof of O’Level credits in Mathematics and English, signing an undertaking if these are missing.
Master in Public Health (MPH)
Eligibility:
Professional degree holders in Medicine (MBBS) are prioritised.
Graduates in related health disciplines (e.g., Dentistry, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine) with a Second Class Lower Division from recognised institutions are eligible.
Master in Public Administration (MPA)
Requirements:
First degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Sociology, or related fields with a minimum of Second Class Lower.
Third Class graduates with five years of relevant work experience.
HND holders must present a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration (PGDPA).
Other Postgraduate Programmes:
Master in International Affairs and Diplomacy (MIAD).
Master in Information Management (MIM).
Master in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (MLCJ).
Undergraduate Programmes
B.Sc Business Administration
Non-Direct Entry:
Minimum of five O’Level credits in not more than two sittings.
Direct Entry:
Satisfy O’Level requirements and possess:
Two A’Level passes in IJMB or Cambridge Moderated exams.
ABU Diploma with Merit in Insurance, Accounting, or Banking and Finance.
OND or HND holders are admitted into 200 and 300 levels respectively.
B.Sc Economics
Non-Direct Entry:
Five O’Level credits, including Mathematics and English.
Direct Entry:
Two A’Level passes, including Economics.
OND and HND holders are admitted into the 200 Level.
B.Sc Sociology & Political Science
Non-Direct Entry:
Five O’Level credits, including Mathematics, English, and Government/History.
Direct Entry:
Two A’Level passes in Sociology or Government/History.
ABU Diplomas in related disciplines with Merit grades are accepted.
B.Sc International Studies
Requirements:
Five O’Level credits, including Mathematics, English, and Government/History.
Direct Entry candidates need two A’Level passes or an ABU Diploma with Merit.
B.Sc Computer Science
Requirements:
Five O’Level credits in English, Mathematics, and Physics.
A-level or ND qualifications in Computer Science are required for Direct Entry.
BNSc Nursing Science
Direct Entry:
Registered Nurse Certificate from the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
Five O’Level credits, including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
General Notes on Admission
Candidates must verify their O’Level results during screening.
If deficient in required credits, an undertaking must be signed to meet the criteria before graduation.
